Publication Ethics
This statement sets out the ethical conduct expected of all parties involved in publishing DEPLOY: Journal of Informatics and Computing Technology: publisher, editors, reviewers, and authors. It is based on the COPE Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors.
A. Duties of the Publisher
Guarantee the independence of editorial decisions from commercial interests; provide adequate publishing infrastructure including long-term archiving and DOI registration; support editors in handling ethics cases without interference; protect users' personal data; and disclose all author-facing charges openly.
B. Duties of Editors
- Publication decisions based on scholarly merit and fit with scope, informed by reviewer reports.
- Fair play: no regard to race, gender, sexual orientation, belief, nationality, institution, seniority, or political view.
- Confidentiality: no disclosure beyond authors, reviewers, and journal staff.
- Conflicts of interest: unpublished material must not be used for the editor's own research without written consent; editors with conflicts recuse themselves.
- Integrity: investigate allegations before and after publication and issue corrections or retractions where warranted.
C. Duties of Reviewers
Contribute to editorial decisions and help authors improve their work; decline promptly when unqualified or unavailable; treat manuscripts as confidential; be objective and argue from evidence rather than criticising the author personally; identify relevant uncited work and report substantial overlap; and decline where a conflict of interest exists.
D. Duties of Authors
Report results accurately with reproducible methods; ensure originality and proper attribution; avoid simultaneous submission; retain and provide raw data on request for at least [five] years; list only those meeting the ICMJE authorship criteria; disclose funding and conflicts of interest; provide ethical approval and informed consent where applicable; and promptly notify the editor of any significant error in published work.
E. Complaints
Complaints about the editorial process, editor or reviewer conduct, or suspected misconduct may be sent to deployjournal@gmail.com. All complaints receive a response within [14] working days and are handled by parties not involved in the matter complained of.
