Abstract

The Virtual Laboratory website serves as a digital platform for supporting practical learning by providing access to laboratory simulations, learning resources, and experimental activities. The effectiveness of such a platform depends not only on the availability and functionality of its features but also on its usability, which determines how easily users can interact with, understand, and benefit from the system. This study evaluated the usability of the Virtual Laboratory website https://virtuallab.naista.id/ using the System Usability Scale. A quantitative descriptive approach was employed, involving users of the platform as respondents. Data were collected through a questionnaire consisting of ten standardized statements measured on a five-point Likert scale, and the responses were analyzed by calculating individual scores and determining the overall usability score. The SUS results indicate a favourable level of perceived usability. The website obtained an average score of 79.5 out of 100, which places it in the Good category of the Adjective Rating scale, within the Acceptable range, and at Grade B on the Grade Scale, well above the benchmark value of 68. The findings indicate a favourable level of perceived usability and provide a baseline for further usability investigation and system improvement. The study demonstrates that the System Usability Scale provides a practical and standardized approach for evaluating virtual laboratory websites and generating empirical feedback for system improvement. The results provide empirical evidence that can inform future usability improvements to the virtual laboratory platform.
